Chipstead 2 - 2 Three Bridges
With eleven first and second team players unavailable, second team manager Tony stone had to call up three Under 16's and two Under 17's from the youth side and with captain for the day Chris Rowney only 23 this was perhaps one of the youngest ever sides to represent Chipstead at senior level.
Up against third placed Three Bridges this looked on paper to be very much men against the boys, but from the first whistle Chipstead took the game to Three bridges and were rewarded with a fine opening goal from Tom Penson after only three minutes. Chipstead continued to play with great confidence and deservedly added a second after 30 minutes when Kofi Quartey was played through and he calmly placed the ball past the keeper and right on half time Chipstead had a further opportunity to increase their lead but were denied by a fine save from the keeper.
Unfortunately the second half did not start well with Three Bridges pulling an early goal back from a slightly fortunate shot that looped over the keepers head. As the half wore on Three Bridges started to dominate possession due to their superior strength and fitness but the Chipstead defence stood firm with superb performances from all the youngsters.
Finally the pressure told and in time added on Three Bridges got their equaliser after an unfortunate own goal. Despite only drawing after having taken a two goal lead this was a very impressive performance from a very young inexperienced side and can only bode well for the future.

Chipstead Reserves 4 - 0 Carshalton Athletic
With Carshalton in second place in the premier league and only two defeats, Chipstead expected their toughest game of the season so far.
From the first whistle Chipstead attacked the Carshalton goal and after only two minutes were rewarded with a goal after good work down the left wing gave Kofi Quartey the opportunity to fire home.
Chips continued to pour forward and increased their lead after 20 minutes when Tom Penson drilled the ball home from the edge of the area.
The rest of the half saw the home team continue to attack with Michael Lidbury in the Chipstead goal rarely called into action.
The start of the second period saw Carshalton come more into the game but the back four of Chipstead stood firm.
The game was rapped up for Chipstead when Rob Lynch put in a great cross to the far post where Tom Penson headed home and with the game almost over Marcus Kempster was played through and went round the keeper and coolly bent the ball round two defenders on the line and into the back of the net.
It will be interesting to see if this level of performance can be carried over into the remaining league games of the season to ensure a top half finish.

Kofi Quartey scored Chipstead's winner v Godalming Town

CHIPSTEAD RESERVES 1 - 0 GODALMING TOWN
After a week of heavy rain the game took place on a superb surface thanks to the hard work of groundsman Don Faircloth and his young assistant Alan Brett.
With call ups to the first team due to suspension and injury and two players unavailable a young looking side containing three under 18s's in the starting line up and another two on the bench took on Godalming.
The first half saw few chances at either end with both defences well on top. The second half became more open with both Liam and Kofi missing good opportunities, but with Godalming also having chances to take the lead. Eventually with time running out Chipstead first had a goal ruled out for offside after a flowing move but then their persistance paid off when Kofi Quartey chased through on goal and was able to muscle the ball over the line despite the keepers despairing attempt to keep the ball out.
A special mention for the young Chipstead keeper Joe Grant making his debut who pulled off two fine saves and for Sam Marks playing at centre back who's run late on led to the winning goal, Man of the Match for Chipstead was David Warwick who turned in a superb display.

CHIPSTEAD RESERVES 3 - 1 STAINES LAMMAS
SURREY PREMIER CUP
On the coldest evening of the season with a thick frost covering the pitch even before kick off, Chipstead faced a strano Staines Lammas teamwho with games in hand lay in fourth place in the Combined Counties Division 1.
The first ten minutes of the game saw Stainnes on the attack and looking dangerous but slowly Chipstead eased themselves into the game and started creating chances of their own. After 25 minutes Chipstead took the lead with a well taken goal from Kobi Boakye, the lead was increased further when Joe Hayward brought the ball out of defence and played it to Kobi only to see him brought down, Tom Penson stepped forward and confidently fired the penalty home.
The second half saw Staines push forward hoping to get backinto the game but thanks to two superb saves from Michael Lidbury and a great defensive performance from the back four they could not find a way through. Eventually with only minutes remaining Chipstead scored their third when Paul Yoo scored with a great shot from the edge of the penalty area into the roof of the net. Unfortuanately from the restart Staines scored a consolation goal but this did nothing to detract from a fine Chipstead performance.
In the next round Chipstead will meet another Combined Counties side Chobham.

CHIPSTEAD RESERVES 2 - 2 TONBRIDGE ANGELS
Chipstead started the game with a strong line up including Steve Eggleton and Steve Boswell both on their way back from injury and looking for match fitness. Unfortunately thing did not go to plan with Lawrence Buchmann and Wayne Hibbert both coming off injured before half time. But this did not stop the team putting in a good performance against an equally strong side. Chips took the lead midway throught the first half with Rob Lynch scoring with a great dipping shot from at least 25 yards giving the keeper no chance. Tonbridge fought back and scored a deserved equaliser just before half time.
The second half saw both teams create and eventually from a well taken corner Steve Eggleton rose above the Tonbridge defence to power a header home. As the half progressed Tonbridge pushed Chipstead back and eventually scored their equaliser in time added on. On the balance of play a fair result.

CHIPSTEAD RESERVES 4 - 1 HAYWARDS HEATH RESERVES
The first half saw Chipstead have most of the game but fail to open the scoring despite a number of good opportunities. The second half saw Chips come out in a more determined fashion and it was only a matter of time before the first goal went in and was well taken by Tom Penson and shortly after the second followed scored by Liam Oxley. A third was added by Karl Balogun before Marco Black scored the fourth and the goal of the game with a fierce dipping shot from all of 25 yards.
Haywards Heath were rewarded for their hard work throughout with a consolation goal just before the end of the game.

CHIPSTEAD RESERVES 2 - 0 MOLESEY RESERVES
An early goal after only 5 minutes from Tom Penson gave Chipstead the upper hand which they held throughout the game against a hard working Molesley team. Chipstead had numerous opportunities to increase their lead in the first half but thanks to some wayward finishing and good goalkeeping there was no further action to the score. The second half again saw Chipstead well on top and after ten minutes Lian Oxley increased their lead. No doubt due to the very hot conditions Chipstead took their foot off the pedal but were always in control of the game. Man of the Match for Chipstead was Darly Coleman who controlled the midfield and will surely be knocking on the first team door in the near future.
