TONY STONE'S
REPORT ON THE SEASON SO FAR
This season has seen a new influx of players following the arrival of Mark as first team manager and that has had a great effect on the reserves. We have started the season so well, and have the strongest squad since I have been at the club. We have competition for places in every position and that can only be good for the team. We have fed some players into the first team already and have taken players from the first team for fitness too - which is why we are here. We have currently played 9 games and have won 8 of these - our only loss coming at home to Merstham where we finished the game poorly after leading 2 - 1. Since then we have gone on a great run of games and had some excellent performances, although a clean sheet still eludes us, which is something we will have to put right over the next few games.
We now have a difficult run of games coming up, which sees us play the sides in the top half of the table, which include Woking at home. This will be a good test for us to see how far we have come since last season and hopefully a game in which we will not let ourselves down in.
I hope we can continue this form and finish the season well and maybe have a top 6 finish

We have been playing very well and taking our chances. At Burgess Hill we started with 10 men and manager Tony Stone had to start the game. But when the late comers turned up Chips really turned it on. Fitness is a big thing with us this season- which is intilled into everyone by first team manager Tommo.

LEAGUE CHALLENGE CUP DRAW
The reserves have a bye in the 1st round and will play at home to either Met Police or Borehamwood in the 2nd Round. Date to be arranged

The Reserves Turn The Corner

After a very bad run of results the reserves have started to pick things up in recent weeks. Winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 1 of their last 5 games. That run, included very good wins at home to Chessington and Hook, and away to Horsham YMCA, coming from behind in both games to win. The 2 draws were very good results too - away to Oakwood and home to Molesey, and we had to recover from going 2 goals behind in both these games too. The loss was against a very good Leatherhead side that is top of the league having lost only one game all season. But, even in that game there were times when we were well on top and had we taken a chance at 2 nil down, who knows what, could have happened.
I have to commend the players I have had with me this season, because whether we have been winning or losing, they have always given me 100% effort. That says a lot about a footballer to me, as too many players can hide during a game and just go through the motions, but they have never given up in games, and that is why we have come back from 2 goals behind on 3 occasions this season, to get points from games, that we didn't look like getting at half time.
So, I am hopeful that we will pick up lots more points from the remaining games this season and climb away from the foot of the table, which is not where some of our performances say we should be.
