F A Vase - Second Qualifying Round - Saturday 12th September 2026

Chipstead eased into the next round of the FA Vase, as they won 5-2 at Seaford Town in the Second Qualifying Round on Saturday afternoon

They started promisingly, as an early shot by Abioseh Davies was gathered by the home keeper, & they took the lead on just 6 minutes - keeper Jacob Bennett, already getting stick from the youthful element behind his goal, answered them in the best way possible, by kicking upfield into the path of Edd Mbango, who lifted the ball over the keeper & into the net to make it 1-0

Mbango nearly had a second, when he lifted his shot just over the bar, & Michael Agyemang then found Cameron Harrison with a pinpoint ball wide to the right, but the young winger cut inside & fired over the target

On 21 minutes, Seaford were level at 1-1, as a free-kick from the left was volleyed in by their no. 9 - yet Chips weren't knocked back, & kept playing positive football - a James Mansfield free-kick was thumped against the angle of post & crossbar by skipper Quincy Rowe, although the flag was up for offside, before Deshon Carty received a great ball forward, but was deemed to be offside too

Harrison had another shot deflected inches wide, but the second goal came about on 37 minutes, as Benjamin Gambrah appeared to be fouled on the edge of the box, but Mbango played on, turned & fired home to make it 2-1

Chipstead kept pushing - a Mansfield corner was headed goalwards by Storm Glautier, but the referee blew for a push, before Mansfield dribbled the ball into the box, but saw his effort deflected for a corner

Mansfield took the flag-kick himself, & the ball deceived the corner and flew straight into the net to make it 3-1

Davies shot wide, seeking a 4th goal, but the half ended with Chips having shown good character, having conceded the equaliser

Into the second period & they kept pressing - having withstood a couple of Seaford attacks, Mbango made an incisive run down the left, but couldn't connect with Carty in the centre

Yet their fourth goal came on 66 minutes, as the ball wasn't cleared from a Gambrah throw, Mbango flicked it on, Mansfield had a shot & the ball fell to Harrison at the back post, who tucked it home

The home side gained some consolation with 20 minutes left, as their no. 5 headed home a free-kick to make it 4-2, but Chipstead netted a 5th five minutes later, as Mbango escaped inside-right, before finding Carty in the middle, who finished with aplomb

There was still time for the referee to show sub Reece Deakin a straight red card minutes after coming on to the pitch, but Chipstead managed to see the game out well & claim the win, and will now look ahead to Tuesday's home league game with Corinthian-Casuals
