The points were shared in a 6-goal thriller, as Chipstead made the long trip abroad to play Guernsey on Wednesday night in their latest match in the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division
In a frantic start, Peter Wedgeworth sent a free-kick over the bar, while Matt Kerbey tipped over a Guernsey effort, & his defence blocked the shot from the resulting corner
The home side took the lead on 10 minutes, as Kerbey got down to parry a shot, but the rebound was turned in - it was nearly 2-0, as Guernsey hit the side netting
Andy Somo had a shot blocked from the edge of the area on the turn, while a Guernsey forward headed the ball straight at Kerbey
Chipstead equalised, as Guernsey pushed forward - Callum McAllister put a great through ball into Somo's path, & the tall striker finished well for his 18th goal of the season
Guernsey went ahead again 10 minutes later with a shot past Kerbey to make it 2-1, & Chips' task got tougher, when Daryl Coleman was shown a straight red card for a challenge in front of the dugouts, which prompted a melee involving players from both sides
However, Chipstead were on terms just before halftime, as Armani-Jordan Martin put over a dangerous corner, which Kieran Lavery headed home, although it was originally given as an own goal off the defender on the goal line
2-2 at the break then, & Guernsey were quickly in action from the restart, with a shot deflected wide, & Kerbey turning another one over the bar
Somo nearly put Chips ahead, as he had two goes at a loose ball in the box, but it somehow stayed out
Then Lavery nearly scored, as Martin kept the ball alive from a corner
But Martin did find the net on 57 minutes with a smart free-kick into the top corner to make it 3-2
McAllister hit another shot across the face of the goal, which might have killed the game off, while the Chipstead goal led a charmed life, as shots hit the post & crossbar, as Guernsey sought an equaliser
It came about eventually, as their 16-year-old sub on his debut drove the ball home from the right for 3-3
Guernsey saw another shot curl just over, while Charlie Kennett, on as sub for Somo, saw a half-volley skid wide
It finished 3-3 with honours even after a long day on the road, with Chipstead remaining 10th in the league table ahead of their Easter Monday game at home to Sutton Common Rovers
