Chipstead continued their recent unbeaten form with a 5-0 win over Staines Town at Bedfont Sports on Wednesday night, in spite of it being their second game in just over 48 hours
Although Staines were bottom in the league table, & suffering problems off the pitch, it took Chips time to get going, & it was only in the 26th minute that Kieran Lavery gave them the lead
On the stroke of halftime Jack Beadle's swerving shot made it 2-0
Four minutes after the restart, Lavery notched the 3rd, heading in a Peter Wedgeworth corner at the near post
Tom Smith scored the 4th on 59 minutes, tapping in after Jonathan Gjoshe's shot had been parried by the keeper
The scoring was completed by Andy Somo on 61 minutes, when he turned home Alpha Barry Diallo's square pass for his 19th goal of the season
It might have been more - Beadle's shot was heading into the net, before Somo made sure, but he had come from an offside position, & was thus denied his landmark 20th goal
It was an emphatic win though, cementing 10th place in the league table for the team ahead of their final game of the season at Binfield on Saturday
