Chipstead slipped to a heavy defeat, as they lost 7-0 at AFC Whyteleafe in their match in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division South on Saturday afternoon
With Aaron Lamont & Peter Wedgeworth formally announced as player manager & assistant manager respectively during the week, they would have hoped for a better showing, but the home side showed why they are second in the league table, & went ahead in just the 3rd minute, as the referee awarded a penalty, which was duly dispatched
Filip Chalupniczak made a great save to prevent a second goal, with the rebound put wide, but Whyteleafe did increase their lead on 18 minutes from a header
Chips had a chance to get back into the game just before halftime, as Emmanuel Robe was tripped by the keeper in the box, but Ben Jordan put his spot-kick over the bar - to compound this, Whyteleafe scored with a shot from the edge of the area in added time, to give them a 3-0 lead at the break
Cameron Lewis-Brown came on as sub in the second half for Melford Simpson, but the home side scored a 4th from a shot on 50 minutes - 8 minutes later, it was 5-0, as their centre-forward rounded Chalupniczak & slid the ball home
They scored a 6th with 10 minutes left & finished the scoring on 88, to leave Chipstead 17th in the league table, before Tuesday’s home game with Epsom & Ewell
