Chipstead endured their second loss in added time in three days, as Knaphill secured all three points with two late goals in their latest match in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division South on Tuesday night

Managing to play with a lot more purpose than on Saturday, Chips enjoyed the better of the first half - a useful flick-on by Carl Oblitey, a teasing cross by Edd Mbango & a shot just wide by Michael Agyemang were all promising signs

Agyemang was crudely fouled in midfield, but recovered to strike the ball from distance just past the goal - Knaphill had the ball in the net, but the flag was up for offside, before Mbango volleyed just wide - Deshon Carty then crossed from the left, Oblitey flicked the ball on, but Mbango couldn’t get his shot away

Chipstead took the lead 1-0, as halftime approached - former keeper at the High Road, Harvey Keogh tripped Mbango in the box, the referee tried to play advantage, but there was a further foul, so the ref brought play back for the first infringement, Keogh got sinbinned for protesting, so an outfield player had to eventually go in goal, but Oblitey slipped the ball past him into the net to give his side the advantage at the break

Chips couldn’t trouble the stand-in keeper upon the resumption, & this was to prove costly - they still had plenty of the ball, & looked comfortable - James Mansfield & Diego Munoz were introduced as subs, but the home side were building up pressure

On 87 minutes, they were level 1-1, as their no. 23 shot home off the inside of the post - 4 minutes into added time, they snatched the lead 2-1, as their no. 7 broke through the middle & shot home

There was no time for a reply, leaving Chipstead with no points to show from their first two league games - they next face Epsom & Ewell at Chessington & Hook in the Extra Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday afternoon
