Chipstead seized the opportunity to record a 3-0 win over Met Police, & chalk up their first league win of the new Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division South season on Tuesday night at the High Road

They started brightly with Edd Mbango fashioning a couple of chances with his pace, before good work down the left by Diego Munoz set up Michael Agyemang, but his shot was charged down

Chips’ keeper made a vital block at the other end, before his side took the lead 1-0 on 31 minutes, as Mbango broke clear of the defence & finished well

They kept pressing forward, & Reece Deakin saw his thumping shot saved - Bennett comfortably dealt with a Met free-kick, & then Sid Ward came close with a header, as Agyemang delivered one for Chipstead

Just before halftime, Abioseh Davies doubled the lead, taking advantage of hesitation between a Met defender & their keeper, to toe-poke the ball in between them, so Chips led 2-0 at the break

Mbango made it 3-0 just after the hour mark, as he powered home a header from a great cross from the left

From then on, it was good game management to see the game out - solid defence to maintain the clean sheet, restricting the Met’s efforts to get back into it

The three points sees Chipstead up to 11th in the early league table ahead of Saturday’s tricky trip to Fleet Town
