Chipstead earned a well-deserved three points, as they came away from Yateley Utd. with a 1-0 win in their latest game in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division South on Tuesday night

They started brightly, & came close, as Cameron Harrison cut inside from the right & unleashed a shot just past the far post early on

The important first & only goal came on 13 minutes, after Michael Agyemang was crudely brought down on the left side of midfield - James Mansfield played the free-kick short to him, took the return ball, & crossed in low to the near post, where Reece Deakin tucked it home

Mansfield soon put over another free-kick, which found Storm Glautier, whose looping header was gathered by the keeper, before a great team move started by tenacious tackling by Benjamin Gambrah at the back, & ended with another teasing cross from Mansfield, but the keeper intervened

Agyemang tried to catch the keeper off his line, when he tried a speculative effort, but the ball landed on the roof of the net - Deakin then had another shot inside-right, but the keeper held on - Chips were good value for their halftime lead

The second half saw excellent spells of pressure, as Chipstead wouldn’t let the home side back into the game - Abioseh Davies shot over the target, before Deakin touched off keeper Jacob Bennett’s long ball forward and Davies’ shot went just wide this time

Another ball forward from Bennett saw Deakin hassling the last defender, but the referee blew for an infringement, just as he was about to slide the ball into the net - Harrison then chased another long ball, but his ball to Deakin pushed the tall striker too wide to get a shot in

Chips introduced their subs for fresh legs, but a dangerous cross from Harrison didn’t get the finish it merited

Sub Levi Bassett did pressurise the home defence, but the keeper just beat him to the loose ball - sub Deshon Carty then won the ball in midfield, but fellow sub Edd Mbango shot wide

Chipstead saw the game out well, & end the day 8th in the league table, & now look ahead to Saturday's FA Vase trip to Seaford Town
