Chipstead were unable to continue their good start to the season, as they came unstuck 2-0 at Westfield on Tuesday evening
Two goals in eight minutes, as half-time approached, killed off the game as a spectacle
The first came on 32 minutes, as their winger switched play, & set up their no. 10, who shot low into the net
Two good saves from Oliver Pain kept Chips in the game, but another goal on 40 minutes gave them a mountain to climb, as a dangerous home free-kick was blocked, but their centre-half turned home the rebound, so they turned round 2-0 down at the break, with Tom Collins going closest for the visitors
Chipstead improved after the break, but couldn't break down a resolute Westfield side tipped to be towards the top of the table come the end of the season. They seemed to lack the intensity & quality in their game, which had served them so well against Bracknell. A few players were missing through suspension & holidays, but they will hope to regroup as a team, when they host Hassocks in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon
