Chipstead eased to another comfortable win on Non-League Day, which began by raising £300 for Prostate Cancer UK, & ended with 3 more goals + 3 more points in a 3-1 victory over Thatcham Town
They were helped on their way by an even earlier goal from a corner by Jamal Abubakari, than when he had scored on his debut 2 weeks before, after just 3 minutes
Thatcham did hit a post, before skipper Kieran Lavery doubled Chipstead's lead from another corner at close range on 35 minutes
The game was as good as over 7 minutes into the 2nd half, when Jack Beadle finished off a good team move to make it 3-0
Chips continued to mount pressure with a series of Peter Wedgeworth corners, the last one falling to Beadle, who teed up Callum McAllister, but he shot over the bar
By then Tom Smith & Sam Bell had come on as subs for the injured Daryl Coleman & Lavery, with Bell straight into the action down the right, putting over a teasing cross to Andy Somo, who headed wide
The Thatcham keeper denied in-form Somo twice more, before Armani-Jordan Martin, back at the High Road, came close to extending the lead, but his volley went wide
The visitors had a little ray of hope, when their sub got one back from the penalty spot 15 minutes from time, but Chipstead held on well to secure the win, which consolidates their 10th place in the league table ahead of next Saturday's trip to Staines Town
