Chipstead’s under-18s secured a deserved 2-1 win over Met Police in their latest match in the Anderson Travel Isthmian League Youth Central Division on Monday night at the High Road
The Met took an early lead after just 4 minutes, but George Craig levelled for Chips on 19 minutes
With Tyler Crawford making a promising start in goal, as Baldwin Kaluya was away on trial, & a solid back line in front of him, the home side managed to limit the Met's chances
Daniel Berry, fresh from 1st team action during the preceding week, twice went close to putting Chipstead ahead, but it remained 1-1 at halftime
Berry had further chances early in the 2nd half, while the Met also came close, hitting the crossbar, but it was a sweet strike from Craig, which put Chips 2-1 up on 61 minutes
The Met pushed forward, seeking an equaliser, but the home side held firm, & could have extended their lead, when Tom Smith hit a free-kick inches over the bar
Chipstead held on well to bag the three points, & move up to 5th in the table, ahead of their next match at Dorking Wanderers scheduled in two weeks' time
